About Us.

School of Alternative Learning formally know as The Blessed Danial Brottier School was establish in 1985 by a visionary priest  Fr. Calvin Tam , the then principal of St Joseph College.The school’s primary focus was on special education, catering to the student with learning difficulty or who was academically delayed.A few years after, the church decided to shut the school down, but before doing so, they accepted an offer from Rosa Thompson, a local parishioner, who kept the school running.In 1990 the school was relocated at the corner of Market and Abercromby Street,St.Joseph. (now the St.Joseph Police Station) Many  years  hard past  and in  2005  Mr. Emmanuel  Waldron  was appointed as the  principal of the Blessed Danial Brottier school, how was a past student  of  the said school.In the same year Mr. Waldron changed the name of the school to the School of Alternative Learning to better reflected the  nature of the  school. The school iis now owned and managed by  Mr. A.Antoine. A new  principal has recently been  appointed by the Board of Directors as of January 7th ,2008..
