Who Are We?
The School of Alternative Learning, formerly the Blessed Daniel Brothier School has been an oasis for children with learning difficulties and disabilities since 1985.Accredited by the Ministry of Education, the school is on record as having successfully assisted a number of students to progressively improve and assimilate information at the SEA and CXC levels.One student was ranked 27th out of the thousands of children sitting the SEA exam. He passed for a seven year school. Unfortunately, many children are silently suffering, wanting to learn, longing for undrstanding and unable to communicate their desires.
Instead they find themselves in overcrowded classrooms blending in or standing out with behavior that is incomprehensible to all their teachers, the school and especially their parents. Because nobody really knows.
THE SAD FACT IS; YOU KNOW:
You KNOW because of consistently low grades
You KNOW because you constantly repeat simple instructions
You KNOW because other children the same age seems smarter
As a parent, deep down in your heart "you KNOW"
You KNOW your child needs special attention
MANY PARENTS ARE IN DENIAL HOPING THAT THE STANDARD EDUCATION SYSTEM WILL BE ENOUGH, THEY ACT LIKE THEY REALLY DON'T KNOW.
IT MAYBE JUSTE A GROWING PHASE
THE WORST THING IS TO LABEL A CHILD.
BUT YOU NEED TO KNOW... REALLY KNOW
